Does anyone know why my toenail would have fallen off?

I hit my toe on a door about two weeks ago, and after about a week it turned like dark reddish brown around the edge. Then recently i was cutting my toenails and cut the end of it off and a reddish yellowish liquid came out. I ended up cutting the whole nail off and it didn’t hurt at the time it just came off, but now it hurts really bad and its all red and swollen?? Does anyone know what might have happened and is it infected now and treatment advise?Thanks

When you hit your toenails hard and you see blood underneath the nail it will usually fall off and you will grow another one. You shouldnt of cut it off . Thats why it hurts and is swollen. Wash it with hydrogen peroxide and keep it lightly covered so it can still get air. Hopefully there is no next time but if there is dont cut it off . It will fall off by itself when the new nail has grown underneath it.
It fell off because you mashed it on the door. You need to keep antibiotic ointment on it during the day with a bandage and let it have air if you aren’t doing anything. If you prop it up it won’t throb so bad. Also, soak it in a warm water pan with epson salts, a great healint solution for many injuries
